Ruby Khan

Ruby Khan focuses on program design, research and impact evaluations of our gifts, grants, and investments as a part of the Strategy team at Schmidt Futures

Prior to Schmidt Futures, Ruby helped Columbia University’s endowment ($11B) transition to net-zero carbon emissions and managed their divestment screens for private prison operators. With the Global Impact Investing Network, she co-authored a sector-first report on how COVID-19 affected impact investments across the globe. She briefly worked with the EPA in rural Michigan to provide data-driven solutions on socio-economic development to local government and indigenous leaders. She also piloted a first-of-its-kind landscape analysis on gender lens investing in South-East Asia with the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Before her time at Columbia University, she worked at the Federal Reserve in Financial Planning & Analysis and co-founded an impact investing fund at her alma mater Northeastern University in Boston.

Ruby has earned a BSBA in Finance and Entrepreneurship from Northeastern University, Masters in Quantitative Methods from Columbia’s Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, and Masters in Public Administration from Columbia’s School of International and Public Affairs.
