Joshua Nott is a Manager at Schmidt Futures where he works on institutional strategic planning and the implementation and evaluation of priority projects. Joshua joined Schmidt Futures from the Rhodes Trust where he led the establishment of Rise. Complementary to his work at Schmidt Futures, Joshua co-convenes the Vaccine Safety and Confidence Building Working Group, and is a working group member of the G7 Global Partnership — Africa Biosecurity Signature Initiative.
A native of South Africa, Joshua is passionate about African public policy challenges with a particular interest in regional integration, trade, and public health initiatives. His policy experience includes time with the Global Economic Governance Programme at Oxford University’s Blavatnik School of Government, the Institute of African Alternatives in Cape Town, and the Center for Strategic and International Studies, Washington D.C.
Joshua holds a Masters of Public Policy (with Distinction) and an MSc in African Studies from the University of Oxford where he studied as a Rhodes Scholar. Joshua achieved his Oxford Blues representing the University’s Water Polo team. In addition to his postgraduate qualifications, Joshua holds a Bachelor of Laws (with Distinction) and a Bachelor of Social Science (with Distinction in Political Studies) from the University of Cape Town.
